This summer, about 1 month before Hurricane Ike, Sam and his sidekick Hank visited Galveston and the surrounding area for about a week. They fished off the 91st Street pier, which was destroyed by the hurricane, and visited other places that are now damaged or destroyed. I'm glad Sam and Hank got to visit Galveston and had so many fun adventures. Some of those memories won't be able to be repeated because of the terrible damage Ike did to Galveston Island. We went fishing and crabbing, visited a sea turtle research facitlity, enjoyed water rides at Schlitterbahn and rode the awesome ferry between Galveston and Bolivar. Bottle-nosed dolphins followed playfully alongside the ferry. We also visited NASA, which totally rocked. Sam was anxious to see the anti-gravity room, only to be disappointed that there is no such thing. That didn't stop Sam from whipping out his notebook and designing one. Knowing Sam, he'll probably moonlight from his marine biology job inventing things to help animals.
